- Hi, My name is Mrs. Shryock and I teach second grade at WPS. I have taught for 26 years in Burke County. This is Buddy and he is our class pet. When you click on the We Don’t Eat Our Class video lessons that we will do the first week of school you will get to meet him. I have a 18 year old son who is a senior at BCHS this year. Go Bears!!!!! My best friend is blind and so I am going to school right now to learn how to read and write in Braille. I also know sign language and use a lot of it in our room to help remember words. I love to read and I love to teach reading and coming up with lots of fun exciting ways to learn. We will do a lot of fun things with our reading this year. Math will be lots of hands on so that you can learn and have fun doing it. There are lots of math things in the box we are sending home at open house. It is going to be a very different year but we are going to do great and become better readers this year.
